Autumn Okuszka, Editor-in-Chief
Autumn Okuszka is the Editor-in-Chief of The Oakland Post. A senior at OU, she is pursuing a B.A. in journalism.
Autumn’s relationship with The Post began in the summer of 2022 through the contributor program. Writing articles about pandemic learning and “Impractical Jokers,” Autumn officially became a “postie” in the 2022-2023 school year as a Features Reporter, writing pieces such as “Oxford High School at one year: Ella Klimowicz’s resiliency” and the seven-part “Keeper of the Dream Award” series.
During the summer and fall 2023 semesters, Autumn worked as the Content Editor of The Oakland Post. Alongside writing articles, such as “From Rochester Hills to Hollywood Hills: Actor Curtis Armstrong’s ties to OU” and “Five albums turning 50 in 2023, “Autumn also edited The Oakland Post staff’s stories before they were published each week and ran the contributor program, helping aspiring journalists begin their relationship with The Oakland Post.
Autumn is determined to take what she’s learned as a Features Reporter and Content Editor and implement it into her role as Editor-in-Chief. She also hopes to cement The Oakland Post as Oakland University’s #1 news source.
In her spare time, Autumn enjoys watching reality TV and sitcoms (especially the quotable classics like “Friends” and “Seinfeld”) and likens her music taste to that of a 50-year-old man, listening to Billy Joel and other classic rock artists.
