Dean Vaglia, Staff Reporter
Dean Vaglia is a campus reporter at The Oakland Post. He is a senior majoring in journalism and minoring in political science and expects to graduate in May 2021. As a campus reporter, Vaglia covers a variety of topics ranging from research to arts to student orgs to on–campus happenings in general, ultimately capturing the many stories of the people that make Oakland University what it is.
Vaglia joined The Post in 2017 as a distributor and became a contributor in 2018. He was hired as a reporter at the end of the Winter 2018 semester. Vaglia became interested in journalism as it seemed like a way to make a career out of writing and found a connection to the journalism thing along the way.
Aside from The Oakland Post, Vaglia wrote about motorsports and COVID-19 for the defunct sports blog Straightforward Sports and dived into the world of metro Detroit hot sauces as an editorial intern at Hour Detroit. Outside of journalism, Vaglia is an avid reader and regularly goes on long walks.
