Lupe Fiasco to promote album on campus next week

Rapper Lupe Fiasco will make a stop at Oakland University to promote his new album, “Food & Liquour II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1,” Oct. 2 at 2:30 p.m.

According to Student Program Board Special Events Director Darnell Gray-Shawver, Fiasco will sign his new album, which was released Sept. 25, shake hands and take pictures with students.

Gray-Shawver said students who want to attend the event should arrive early, and the first few students will receive a copy of his album for free.

Fiasco made a stop at OU in March 2011 to promote his album “Lasers.” OU won the experience through a statewide contest from Atlantic Records that was based on social media involvement.

Gray-Shawver said last year’s event was a huge success which is why Fiasco is making a return.

The event will take place in the Oakland Room of the Oakland Center.
