Katie Valley is the content editor of The Oakland Post. She is responsible for editing written content, managing the contributor team and supporting members of the editorial board.
Valley joined The Post as the campus editor in December 2018 after searching for a place to expand her journalistic knowledge and help others improve their skills. She became the content editor for the 2019-2020 academic year to push herself to support as many writers as possible.
Experience Valley possesses includes working with developing writers and employing style rules. She also works as a consultant at the OU Writing Center, where she assists students in strengthening their writing skills. Valley is currently developing her Honors College thesis project, where she will create the first complete set of interactive writing resources for journalism students.
Valley discovered her passion for journalism in 2014 when she wrote and edited for her high school’s newspaper, The Eclipse, later serving as editor-in-chief. She is pursing a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and English, with a minor in French language.
