OU hosts Scion automotive showcase

On September 16th, automotive company Scion hosted a media preview for the release of the all-new, second generation, 2011 Scion tC in the O’Rena at Oakland University.

“The tC has been a very strong performer for the Brand,” said Jack Hollis, Scion Vice President, Stanford graduate and member of NCAA Men’s Baseball championship team, “But it’s time to up the ante with an all new car that’s going to give both owners and new customers to the Brand exactly what they’ve been looking for.”

Many of the concerns regarding not only the relatively new brand, and the Toyota manufacturer, seem to be on the mind of the engineers at Scion, by upgrading not only the basic foundations of the car, but their advertising strategies as well.

Compared the previous 2010 tC model which produced 161 horsepower and has a 2.4 liter engine; the 2011 Scion tC really takes off by producing 190 horsepower in its a bigger 2.5 liter engine that roars, and two new six-speed transmissions, but the upgrades don’t stop there.

As soon as you sit in the car, the new chair design hugs the driver, and sets the mood of what you are about to experience: the import racing soul in an affordable package.

The engineers at Scion recognize the importance and demand for high quality sound systems, and they answered with powerful technology that comes standard.? “The tC begins with a standard 300-watt sound system that was taken from the Lexus LX 570 and made even better,” said Hollis. “With eight speakers that are strategically mounted in the doors and rear quarter trim, the system has been specifically tuned for the tC’s cabin to optimize performance.”

Along with upgraded sound system that trumps the 160-watt sound system of the previous tC model, customers will have the choice between three optional head units from the standard base unit to the advanced touch-screen Scion Navigation unit, along with the Blu Logic option that allows for easy Bluetooth connectivity.

Some automotive companies make the basic need for good sound more complicated, but the new tC keeps thing simple while satisfying the more advanced customers.

Scion isn’t just pushing the limits with not only technology upgrades; they are continuing their already long list of customizable parts that brought many new buyers to the brand initially.

“For tuners who want to add even more excitement to their drive, we’ll have TRD performance parts such as 19-inch wheels, a big-brake kit, sway bars, a short shifter, and an exhaust system.”? On top of the high-performance TRD accessories, Scion will also be offering a rear spoiler, illuminated door sills, carbon fiber B-pillars, interior lighting kits, and body graphics to name a few. These available upgrades bring the racing spirit to life.

Scion’s parent company Toyota has been in the media for safety concerns, but they haven’t overlooked these problems by installing a new Star Safety system, including but not limited to a Smart Stop brake over-ride control, and an 8-airbag systems that will ease the mind the driver.

Comfort, style, and power are present in all of the ascetics in both the bones and heart of the vehicle. The tC really shines in elaborating the small details in large way.

With new additions across the board, higher MPG, and lower price point (starting under $19,000), the all-new tC isn’t a rebuild, it is all new product that will leave the competitors in the dust.
