Grizzlies on the Prowl: What do you think about Sweetest Day?

Sweetest Day is Saturday, Oct. 19, and in honor of this controversial northern holiday we asked students, “What do you think of Sweetest Day?”

Jessica Maney, graphic designer, junior

“I have mixed feelings … on one hand it’s really good if you’re with your significant other, but it can be difficult if you travel like me.”

Nusrat Zaman, integrative studies in psychology, senior

“I think it’s great that people are celebrating it … people should do it more often.”

NO PICTURE Rehman Ahmad, mechanical engineering, freshman

“I think it’s a pointless day … you can literally make that day any day you want to. It’s up to the individuals.”

Robert Curtis, business, freshman

“The man should be treated as a woman should be treated on Valentine’s Day … pampered and stuff.”

Brent Stelzer, electrical engineering, sophomore

“Chocolate.”

Alyssa Brecht, psychology, senior

“Honestly… I used to live in the south and I never heard of it until I came here, so I don’t participate… it’s not a big deal.”

Emily Zuzga, elementary education, junior

“It’s a Hallmark holiday … I don’t really like them”

Danielle Zientak, biology, junior

“You should be grateful for your significant other every day.”
