Oak View residents participate in battle of the wits
On March 5, members of the Oak View House Council partnered together with various Oak View Hall resident assistants to present their annual Trivia Night event.
The James Bond-themed event featured a red carpet entrance for the members of each team and spectators as well as complimentary mocktails, snacks and entertainment for all in attendance.
Resident assistants Matthew Bloom and Devin Cameron were the emcees for the night and were responsible for providing the teams with the questions for each round.
Each round was composed of various questions that increased in difficulty as the night progressed.
There were questions from a variety of categories that ranged from pop culture to geopolitical topics. Some of these included the date of the 2016 Democratic and Republican primary elections, the celebrities included in Ellen Degeneres’ famous Oscar selfie and the original colors of the game Hungry, Hungry Hippos.
Each of the nine teams were provided with an answer sheet and pen for their table at the beginning of each round. These were collected at the end of each 45-minute round and the teams were ranked from first to ninth place based on their score.
Following the first two rounds, the top five teams made it through to the final round to compete for prizes. The members of the top three teams were awarded prizes including a large variety pack of Frito Lay chips, Oakland University glasses, candy and other items. Â
At the conclusion of the last round, the top three, prize-winning teams included Quiz In My Pants in first place, Little Einsteins in second and We Thought This Was Speed Dating in third.
