Gubernatorial Race
Rick Snyder (R) and Virg Bernero (D) ran for the governorship of Michigan. Snyder held at least a 15 point lead in the race throughout the campaign, but Bernero was thought to be capable of pulling the upset.
Snyder – 60 percent (Final)
Bernero – 39 percent
9th Congressional Race
Gary Peters (D), the incumbent in the race, defeated a favored Republican candidate two years ago. Can he do it again?
Rocky Raczkowski (R), the challenger, has MI political experience as a representative from 1996 – 2002.
Peters – 49.40 percent (263 of 291 precincts reporting)
Raczkowski – 47.55 percent
State Senate District 12
Casandra Ulbrich (D) is currently on the Michigan State board of education and acts as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for Wayne State University.
Jim Marleau (R) is currently finishing his term in the State House of Representatives.
Marleau – 62 percent (Final)
Ulbrich – 38 percent
State House of Representative District 45
Mary Ward (D) is currently a teacher at Hart Middle School in Rochester. She has been teaching for 16 years.
Tom McMillan (R) was the incumbent in the race. He has served as county commissioner, mayor and member of the city council.
McMillan – 68 percent (Final)
Ward – 32 percent
