PHOTO SLIDESHOW: Racing for the cure
The 21st annual Susan G. Komen race for the cure was held in downtown Detroit on May 26.
More than 35,000 people braved the rain to participate in either the one mile or 5k race.
Race participant and Oakland University graduate Daren Indy and his wife both have parents that have been affected by breast cancer.
“Just to see that everyone is aware of what is happening is amazing,” Indy said.
All proceeds from the race went to the support of breast cancer research.
