Rochester Rotary club hosts charity golf outing

The 2012 Rochester Rotary charity golf outing was held today on the campus of Oakland University benefiting OUCARES, an Oakland University initiative devoted to autism research, education and support.

The event featured a helicopter golf ball drop and 18 holes of golf on the R and S Sharf Golf Course, as well as dinner and an awards ceremony.

Actor, director and screenwriter Joey Travolta, brother of actor John Travolta, was there to promote his OUCARES film camp, a two-week program that aims to foster creativity in autistic participants ages 10 to 20 through the creation of a short film.

OUCARES is dedicated to providing support for autistic individuals and their families to improve their lives. For more information about OUCARES, visit oakland.edu/oucares.
