P1 to be partially blocked off Friday for Human Health Building opening

Due to the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Human Health Building, the north end of Parking Lot 1 will be temporarily blocked off from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21.

According to Lieutenant Terry Ross, 100 spots have been reserved for the ceremony which is from 3 to 5 p.m.

Ross said he hopes to open up the reserved space around 3 p.m., assuming everyone who has a reserved spot will be there before that time.

“It shouldn’t stress the parking situation too much, as there are fewer students on campus on Fridays,” Ted Montgomery, director of media relations, said

The $64.4 million Human Health Building has been under construction during the past two years and is stretched over 170,000 square feet. The ceremony marks the official move in of the School of Nursing and School of Health Sciences.
