Student’s car catches on fire outside of Pawley Hall parking structure

 

 

On Tuesday, Oct. 2 at around 12:50 p.m., a female student’s car caught fire in the entryway of the Pawley Hall parking structure. The Auburn Hills Fire Department and Oakland University’s Police Department responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Mark Genola, from Management Information Systems, saw and smelled the smoke and went to the scene to see the vehicle engulfed in flames.

The owner of the vehicle smelled a gas leak and smoke, pulled to the side of the road and the vehicle caught fire, according to Auburn Hills Fire Chief John Burmeister.

The fire department was able to extinguish the vehicle in about two minutes, according to Burmeister.
