SVP holding auditions for improv comedy show
SVP is holding auditions for their comedy show, League of Laughter, Dec. 1.
“The show will be part of the new lineup of material that will be premiered on our new YouTube and Vimeo pages, which we’re launching early next year,” Matthew McCormick, president of SVP, said. “After the launch of those channels, episodes will be put on OUTV (channel 71), which is broadcast throughout Auburn Hills and Rochester.”
For the show, SVP is looking for 5-6 people. Producers for upcoming projects will also be scouting those who audition.
“League of Laughter is an improvisational comedy group featured on OUTV that focuses on student talent performing rapid fire improv games and constructing short-form improv scenes,” Christian Jones, creator and former producer, said.
According to McCormick, the actors just need to show up and be on their feet. Those auditioning will not have to prepare any material or monologues. Instead, participants will be playing a series of improve games — just like the show will be.
“League of Laughter has been running for two years and it’s the only show that wasn’t canceled as part of our rebrand,” McCormick said.
Due to audience involvement being high and its popularity continuing, SVP is in talks to bring the show live and making it a weekly event on campus.
