Suspect apprehended in strong armed robbery case

Rochester Hills resident Howard Trammell has been arrested for the strong armed robbery that occurred last week on the night of Tuesday, Dec. 1 in the Ann V. Nicholson apartment parking lot.

The victim was a Hungry Howies pizza delivery man.  The victim explained that this was the second time that the same man had robbed him within that week.

Because the incident seemed to be specific to this man and Hungry Howies on Walton Blvd., Chief of Police Mark Gordon of the Oakland University Police Department explained that they “went back and looked at his [the victim’s] employer to see who would be hanging around the place.”

From here, they discovered ex-employee Trammell.

The victim identified Trammell in a photo line-up. OUPD sent the case to the prosecutor’s office based on probable cause and a warrant was issued.  According to Gordon, Trammell was not cooperative.

Trammell was arraigned on Dec. 8 and a probable cause conference will be held on Dec. 21.  He is currently at the Oakland County Jail.

Gordon stressed that neither the victim nor the suspect were Oakland students.

He added that this was a “random act” that occurred on Oakland’s campus. He encourages students and staff to continue to participate in safety measures and report any suspicious activity on campus to the OUPD.
