Former women’s basketball player Mellios located, had been missing since April 16

Shawne Mellios is alive and well. The former Oakland women’s basketball player, who according to MLive, had been reported missing on Tuesday, April 19 after leaving her Centerville Township home Saturday, April 16 has been located in Bay County, according to Leelanau County Undersheriff Steve Morgan.

Morgan said all the sheriff’s office knows is that Mellios was with an acquaintance and was there of her own accord.

Mellios was set to be recognized at the Fox Theatre before the Black and Gold Awards on Monday, April 18 when the 1989-90 Oakland women’s basketball team was inducted into the Hollie L. Lepley Hall of Honor, but did not appear, according to MLive.
