OU women’s top North Dakota State

The Golden Grizzlies women’s basketball team picked up its 12th conference win of the season by knocking off North Dakota State Saturday at the O’Rena.

Oakland was led offensively by freshman forward Bethany Watterworth, who put up 17 points.

The Grizzlies never trailed in the first half and carried a 31-28 lead into the break. Sophomore guard Sharise Calhoun had 14 first half points for Oakland.

The Bison took their first lead early in the second half, but OU used a 13-2 run to regain control of the game.

Senior Melissa Jeltema moved into eighth place all-time in scoring by passing Jessica Pike, her teammate from last season.

OU will play host to South Dakota State, the team that knocked them out in last year’s Summit League championship, Monday night at the O’Rena.
