Letter to the editor: Immigration panel left no room for debate

The Hispanic Celebration Committee hosted a debate at OU on illegal immigration. All OU professors on the panel were in favor of illegal immigration.

“Illegal” is defined as “not according to or authorized by law: unlawful, illicit.”

Illegal immigration is when people are breaking and entering into our country.  Even Cooley Law School’s assistant director for ethics was in favor of breaking and entering into our country.

These OU professors had no qualms about promoting criminal activity while many of their graduates are having to live with mommy and daddy in order to pay back their student loans.  Student loan debt has surpassed credit card debt and now stands at $850 billion.

Maybe these OU professors need a lesson in life.  By simply requiring all of their graduates to be gainfully employed before these professors ever got paid then their attitudes might just receive the appropriate adjustments.

Why is it that a debate at a university did not have an equal distribution of panelists from both sides of this issue?  Why is it that they did not ask if anyone was a Native American Indian, and only implied that everyone in the room has immigrated to America? They intentionally wanted to indoctrinate impressionable minds.

Why any student in the room would ever clap for any pro-illegal immigration panelist is beyond comprehension.  Illegal immigration is stealing from American children and their families.

Oakland County Commissioner Jim Runstead was the only panelist out of nine who came prepared with facts.  Runstead led participants to the logical conclusion, substantiating why illegal immigration is detrimental for Americans. Please remember to re-elect Oakland County Commissioner Jim Runstead.
