Oakland trampled by North Dakota State in conference play

Taylor Braun led the North Dakota State Bison (9-3) with 21 points and five rebounds to a 96-69 victory over Oakland University (8-7) Wednesday night in Fargo, ND.

After leaving the game a short time with an injury, Reggie Hamilton returned and had a game-high 24 points and three steals. Travis Bader was the only other Oakland player to reach double-digits with 12 points.

Ryan Bass made his return to the line-up and contributed nine points off the bench. Center Kyle Sikora also received significant minutes and finished with six points and five rebounds.

In a poor shooting night, the Grizzlies shot 19 percent and went four of 21 from the three-point line compared to the Bison’s 60 percent.

Even with controlling the lead for most the game, the Bison sent the Grizzlies to the line 30 times with 21 fouls.

Along with Braun, four other Bison finished with points in double figures including Mike Felt who came off the bench with 16 points.

The Grizzlies’ loss to NDSU was the fourth worst loss in program history.

Oakland returns to the O’rena on Tuesday, Jan. 3, in the final home game against rival Oral Roberts (9-4).
