On Nov.5, Michiganders voted on various candidates to represent the state to the federal government, represent local districts to the state government and fill various state offices. Here are Michigan’s results for the 2024 general election.
Presidential
Donald Trump is projected to win the popular vote in Michigan adding the states 15 electors. Trump is currently at 49.8% of the vote compared to Harris at 48.2%. Nearly all the votes have been reported, yet the state has not been officially called.
Senate
The Michigan Senate race as of Wednesday morning is still too close to call for either Mike Rogers (R) or Elisa Slotkin (D). Currently, Slotkin leads by 0.1% of the vote, with 2% of the vote still not counted, according to the Associated Press.

Here are the winners of Michigan’s 13 House of Representative seats. These 13 people will represent Michigan in the House of Representatives.

Incumbent Shri Thanedar (D) Michigan’s 13th congressional district.
Michigan House of Representatives
The Republicans are projected to take the majority in the Michigan House of Representatives. The current Speaker of the House, Joe Tate (D), has conceded the Democrat’s loss of the House of Representatives.
Significance
With the margins so tight this election, in both the legislature and the presidency, Michigan has proven to be a crucial state. As a swing state, Michigan has seen lots of attention during this election cycle.
While it is still unclear for the senate race, it seems that the Republicans have gotten the better of the Democrats as they successfully flipped the blue seventh district to red with Barrett’s victory over Curtis Hertel. This victory provides the Republicans with an advantage in maintaining their majority in the House of Representatives.
