Oakland Post Sports Editor selected as one of 30 MLB FanCave finalsts
Lindsay Beaver, a junior journalism major, was selected as one of 30 Major League Baseball FanCave finalists Wednesday.
Beaver, who works as the sports editor of The Oakland Post, was selected through an online voting process on the MLB FanCave website.
She is one of two Michigan residents to have been selected for the third round and will be flown out to Arizona Monday to compete in the next part of the contest at Spring Training.
Once there, Beaver will compete against the other 29 finalists in a “series of interactive challenges and interviews designed to determine the Opening Day lineup that will hunker down to watch every game in the 15,000-square-foot facility at Fourth Street and Broadway in Greenwich Village,” according to an MLB press release.
“I’m so unbelievably excited to be in the Top 30,” Beaver said. “I never thought I’d actually make it this far. I’m so thankful for everyone who voted for me over the last two weeks. I just can’t wait to go to Arizona and be surrounded by 29 other people who love baseball like I do.”
