Senior forward Drew Valentine was named Summit League Player of the Week along with IPFW’s senior guard Frank Gaines for the week of Jan. 28 – Feb. 3.

The honor comes on the heels of an outstanding performance against Omaha, scoring 14 points with a career-high 16 rebounds. It was Valentine’s fourth double-double of the season.

Fort Wayne’s Gaines earned the award after scoring 32 points, tying a career-high, and grabbed nine rebounds at Omaha.

It was the second career honor for Gaines and the first of Valentine’s career.

Oakland (11-13, 6-4 Summit) is currently in the midst of a three-game winning streak. The Grizzlies will take on league-leaders North Dakota State (18-5, 9-2 Summit) at the Athletics Center O’rena Feb. 7 at 7:00 p.m.
