For some, another four years of President Joe Biden in the oval office is heaven. For others, it’s a nightmare. No matter one’s opinion, a future is possible where Biden prevails and earns another term in the White House.
The campaign ahead in the coming months is vital for Biden. As a reporter, I’m simply an outside observer of the various memos, press releases and speeches that go through Biden’s campaign team. Hypothetically, if I was hired by Joe Biden’s campaign team to give some advice to the incumbent to win, here’s what I would say to him.
Secure pro-choice voters
An 81-year-old Catholic isn’t the stereotypical pro-choice advocate. However, pro-choice voters are essential to victory. This allows the opportunity for independent voters — and possibly some pro-choice republican voters — to be pulled to his side as well. Support for abortion cuts across party lines in some cases. In fact, support for abortion performs significantly better in the polls than support for Biden.
The Wall Street Journal came out with a poll examining key issues for suburban women voters in swing states. The poll shows that abortion is their number one issue come election day.
“39% of suburban women cite abortion as a make-or-break issue for their vote, making it by far the most motivating issue for the group,” the article explained.
If Biden fully commits to his support for the issue, it could be huge. He needs to push more ads and take a stronger stance about the topic.
Avoid excessive public outings
There’s no doubt that Biden is getting old. According to an ABC News poll, a majority of Americans think he’s too old for another term in office. 59% of respondents think that both Donald Trump and Biden are too old. Another 27% of respondents said that just Biden is too old to serve — however, not Trump.
Growing concerns about Biden’s age looms large. The Wall Street Journal recently published a report questioning Biden’s mental acuity. Is the president truly mentally fit enough to do the job?
“Some who have worked with him, however, including Democrats and some who have known him back to his time as vice president, described a president who appears slower now, someone who has both good moments and bad ones,” the report shared.
Although some may argue that all press is good press, this isn’t the case. Biden should do his best to limit his public appearances and keep out of the spotlight. Although he is the president, people on his team really need to consider how damaging this is for his campaign. He should stay sharp and focused when he does official outings.
Girl power!
Get Kamala Harris and Jill Biden on the trail and in the spotlight as soon as possible. Having two powerful and important females by his side and not utilizing them as much as possible is a major mistake.
As stated earlier, women’s reproductive rights is a major issue that could win him votes. Why not push this agenda further? Put the two on the trail more often, and have them connect with women and share their stories. Let them talk about feminism and female representation in politics.
As Stormy Daniels news floods the internet, now is a perfect time for Biden to act. His campaign needs to show that women are in power and are helping him make important decisions in his presidency.

None of these things would make me more likely to vote Biden, if anything the opposite. He should not have run in 2024, Harris is unpopular and he’s too old.
