College of Arts & Sciences seeks new associate dean

The College of Arts and Sciences is looking for a new Associate Dean.

The College accepted applications through August 9 and is now reviewing them. The search began after Dr. Kathleen Moore retired from her post as Associate Dean.

“I was pleased that we received a number of strong applicants,” said Kevin Corcoran, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

In July, Corcoran began an internal search – only Oakland professors are considered. He said internal searches are “customary” for associate dean positions.

The posting sought:

  • Full or tenured OU professors
  • Administrative experience as a program chair or director
  • Demonstrated focus on student success

Corcoran said he expects to name a new associate dean by the beginning of September.
