On Thursday, Aug. 10, the Oakland University Board of Trustees (BOT) held a brief meeting to vote on the reappointment of Robert (Bobby) Schostak as board chair and Joe Jones as vice chair.
Schostak and Jones were appointed to their current positions in Aug. of 2021 after the previous board chair, Tonya Allen, stepped down from her position. An OU alumnus, Schostak has served on the board since 2015, and Jones has served since 2020.
During their tenure as board chair and vice chair, Schostak and Jones have voted on matters such as ceasing potential development on East Campus and increasing student minimum wages to $15 an hour.
The BOT voted unanimously to reappoint Schostak and Jones. They will serve for a one-year term.
“Thank you for your confidence in Joe and myself,” Schostak said. “We look forward to continuing to serve this wonderful institution this coming year.”
