Friday, Nov. 8

Men’s Basketball: North Carolina vs. Oakland

Time: 9 p.m.

Where: Chapel Hill, N.C. (Dean Smith Center)

Outlook: The Golden Grizzlies have had two strong showings in their exhibition games, but now the real competition begins. The Tar Heels are ranked #12 in the country and are coming off 25-11 (12-6 ACC) season in 2012-2013. The Grizzlies were 16-17 (10-6 Summit) last year. The Tar Heels finished third in the nation last year with 17.3 assists per game.

Women’s soccer: Semifinals (Opponent Undecided) vs. Oakland

Time: TBA

Where: Milwaukee, Wis. (Engelmann Field)

Outlook: Oakland finishes the regular season 9-8-1 and 4-3 in Horizon League play. The Grizzlies’ results against Youngstown State were unavailable at press time, but the women’s team will play on Friday pending a win. Oakland won its Oct. 12 home meeting versus the Penguins 2-0. The Grizzlies are 3-5-1 on the road this season and 0-1-0 on a neutral site.

Swimming & Diving (Women’s): Bowling Green vs. Oakland

Time: 4 p.m.

Where: Rochester, Mich. (OU Aquatic Center)

Outlook: The women’s swimming team has started the season off very strong, currently sitting at 4-1. The Bowling Green Falcons are 1-2, with all three being road matches. BGSU is 0-2 in MAC conference play.

Women’s Volleyball: Wright State vs. Oakland

Time: 7 p.m.

Where: Rochester, Mich. (Athletics Center O’rena)

Outlook: Women’s volleyball looks to close out the regular season, currently on a two-game winning streak with victories over Cleveland State and Youngstown State. The Grizzlies are 12-14 (6-5), 3-5 at home, 7-6 on the road and 2-3 on a neutral site. UIC and Valparaiso close out Oakland’s schedule, with games on Nov. 15 and Nov. 16.

Saturday, Nov. 9

Women’s Basketball: Oakland vs. Indiana

Time: 8 p.m.

Where: Bloomington, Ind. (Assembly Hall)

Outlook: Oakland won its lone exhibition game against Windsor University 60-46. Indiana was 11-19 (2-14 Big Ten) in 2012-2013, while the Grizzlies were 9-20 (3-13 Summit).

Swimming & Diving: Oakland vs. Eastern Michigan

Time: 1 p.m.

Where: Ypsilanti, Mich. (Jones Natatorium)

Outlook: Men’s swimming is 2-0 on the season, while the women’s team is 4-1. The Eagles’ women’s team is 2-2 on the season while the men’s team sits at 0-1 from a road loss to Northwestern on Oct. 18. EMU’s women are 0-2 against Big Ten opponents and 2-0 within the MAC conference.
