Broken heart cake DIY

Mix all of the ingredients into a large bowl

Since I already did some fun centerpieces and treats for everyone who loves the thought of Valentine’s Day, I figured I should be fair and create something for those of you who despise it. This broken heart cake is perfect for people going through a break up, those who are forever single, or for those of you who are just downright anti V-day.

Let’s get started:

 Here’s what you will need:

  1. A box of cake mix. I chose chocolate but you can use whatever kind is your favorite.
  2. Ingredients the cake recipe calls for
  3. Two colors of frosting. I chose pink and brown, but again you can choose whatever you want.
  4. Two colors of sprinkles
  5. A broken heart cake pan set
  6. A cookie sheet

Instructions:

  1. First, put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix them to create the cake batter.
  2. Pour the batter into the two cake pans and place them on a cookie sheet. Then, put them in the oven for as long as your cake instructions tell you to.
  3. When the cake is done baking set it on the stovetop to cool.
  4. After the cake is cool, begin frosting. You will want to spread a different frosting color over each piece of the heart. Do this gently as well because you don’t want the cake to break apart.
  5. Smooth the sides and rid of any excess frosting to make it look presentable.
  6. Sprinkle a different color sprinkle onto the each piece of the heart.
  7. Give to the person who broke your heart or eat it by yourself. Trust me, it will make you feel better.
