Broken heart cake DIY
Since I already did some fun centerpieces and treats for everyone who loves the thought of Valentine’s Day, I figured I should be fair and create something for those of you who despise it. This broken heart cake is perfect for people going through a break up, those who are forever single, or for those of you who are just downright anti V-day.
Let’s get started:
Here’s what you will need:
- A box of cake mix. I chose chocolate but you can use whatever kind is your favorite.
- Ingredients the cake recipe calls for
- Two colors of frosting. I chose pink and brown, but again you can choose whatever you want.
- Two colors of sprinkles
- A broken heart cake pan set
- A cookie sheet
Instructions:
- First, put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix them to create the cake batter.
- Pour the batter into the two cake pans and place them on a cookie sheet. Then, put them in the oven for as long as your cake instructions tell you to.
- When the cake is done baking set it on the stovetop to cool.
- After the cake is cool, begin frosting. You will want to spread a different frosting color over each piece of the heart. Do this gently as well because you don’t want the cake to break apart.
- Smooth the sides and rid of any excess frosting to make it look presentable.
- Sprinkle a different color sprinkle onto the each piece of the heart.
- Give to the person who broke your heart or eat it by yourself. Trust me, it will make you feel better.
