IPhone 5 lost, reported stolen
OUPD received a complaint on Feb. 9 from a complainant who wanted to report her IPhone 5 as stolen. She told police that she had been dropped off in the Meadowbrook/University traffic circle, and when she was walking to Kresge Library she noticed that her phone was missing.
She retraced her steps and did not locate the phone on the ground. The driver who had dropped her off was also contacted. He searched the vehicle but was unable to find it.
The complainant attempted to use the Apple service that would allow her to locate her phone, but was unable to because the function was not enabled on her phone.
She told police that she was worried because she had pictures of her credit cards and other personal info on the phone, but her credit card accounts were checked and no unusual charges were made.
OUPD checked the lost and found, but the phone was not located. It was entered into the system as stolen.
Acoustic guitar stolen from Oakland Center
A complainant filed a report with OUPD Feb. 13 that his guitar had been stolen.
He told OUPD that he was sitting with friends in the cafeteria area around 9:00 a.m. a few days before. He said that he got up to leave around 9:30 a.m. and accidentally left his guitar in a case sitting near where he was. He did not notice until later in the day that he had forgotten to grab the guitar.
He told police that he went back to look for the guitar but could not locate. He also checked the lost and found but to no avail.
OUPD is checking in to camera footage from the OC to try to see what happened to the missing guitar. So far, no developments have been made.
Wallet missing from car parked in P29 parking lot
OUPD received a complaint on Feb. 18 at around 12:00 a.m. from a person reporting that her wallet had been stolen.
She told police that she had parked her car in P29 during the UofD vs. OU basketball game. She said that had put her wallet in her purse, which she left under the passenger seat while she went into the game. When she came back to her vehicle after the game, she observed that her purse was still under the seat, but her wallet was missing.
She told police that she was unsure if she had lost her wallet or if it was just missing. She then told police that one of her keys was missing which could have been used to gain entry to her vehicle.
On Feb. 24 she returned to tell OUPD that she had not located the wallet and that she was sure the wallet was stolen. Police were not able to find any evidence of theft or any foul play. There are no suspects at this time.
