Spring clean your to do list

With exams just around the corner, spring cleaning is probably the last thing on your mind. However, organization is a key part of the studying process. Here are some tips to help you stay organized and keep things under control.

1.    Organize Your Class Notes

You don’t have to get on your hands and knees and start scrubbing your bathroom floor to start spring cleaning.  It’s so easy to let class deadlines sneak up on you when your stuff is all over the place. During my first semester, I spent just as much time looking for my notes as I did studying from them. I’ve found that in most of my classes, exams are comprehensive. Trying to find your notes can be a pain. Before exams, make sure you know exactly where your study material is.

2.    Back up Your Files

I am totally guilty of this. Cleaning out your files and saving old files to an external hard drive will give your computer more memory space and you’ll feel relieved to get rid of your clutter. When you’re in your panic phase sobbing, stress-eating and pulling an all-nighter, you don’t want to worry about an assignment that you did at the beginning of the semester that you need for your final portfolio.

3.    Stop Throwing Everything in Your Closet

My closet is a cesspool of clothes, old homework and barely used textbooks. Throwing old stuff in my closet has made it literally impossible to find old work. While cleaning out your closet is time consuming, it is important to clean out your room and then you can get back to studying!
