DIY: Prepare your own lunchable

Plastic to-go containers are perfect for storing your homemade Lunchables.

I’m sure everyone (unless you live under a rock,) knows what Lunchables are and has eaten one through out their childhood. Whether it was cheese and crackers or building your own pizzas, these quick meals were everywhere. However, what most people are unaware of is that they are actually extremely unhealthy! They lack nutrients and are highly processed. So instead of eating food that’s bad for your body, you can create your own healthy version of a Lunchable that’s just as fun (well, almost just as fun,) and will bring you back to your childhood.

Here’s how to do it:

Take a plastic food container with multiple sections and dividers. You can get these at any grocery store such as Meijer, Wal-Mart, Kroger, etc. Next, fill these with healthier alternatives to foods you would normally see in a Lunchable. I chose turkey roll-ups, wheat crackers and Swiss and aged cheddar cheese slices. As for dessert, instead of a candy bar you would normally find in a lunchable ,add something such as peanut butter filled pretzels for something sweet at the end of your meal.
