Win big at Casino Night

The dealer deals out a hand at Oakland University’s Casino Night 2015.

Go big or go home this Saturday Jan. 9 at the Student Program Board’s annual Casino Night.  The Oakland Center will be decorated as a Las Vegas casino.  Students can come dressed in semi formal attire and play classic casino games, listen to live comedy and drink mocktails.

The event is part of the Winter Semester’s Welcome Week intended to bring the students together on campus during the first week of classes. It’s an annual event put on by the Student Program Board.

One of last year’s coordinators, Arkeem Scott, communication major, says the event was a great opportunity for the entire campus community to come and make friends.

“Everything about the event is fun,” Scott said.  “You’re seeing the community in this large setting for a couple hours and you see people making friends, dancing or being anxious about the drawing at the end.”

Every student who plays will have the opportunity to win big prizes from SPB.  Any students not interested in casino games will notice a variety of other entertainment to enjoy.

Anyone is welcome at the event but only Oakland University students will have the opportunity to win prizes.  Casino Night begins at 7 p.m. and will continue until midnight.
