Sharing bikes at OU might hurt
Since the bike share program kicked off a few weeks ago, Oakland University’s campus has been littered with bicycles, some of which broken and just plain unsafe.
The idea of the program is for students to take the bikes from here to there, never having to sign them out, just grabbing them and going. Photographed is one of the bicycles propped up outside Varner Hall, seat-less.
Is there really somebody out there who just doesn’t understand the concept of the bike “share” program, who took the seat to class to ensure nobody would take the bike and it would be there when they got out? Or is this just a painful example of the disrepair these bicycles are in?
Hope nobody tries to ride this one down the hill from Elliott to Pawley, that might hurt.
