Top 5 individual performances of the 2010-11 season

With the regular season complete and the Summit League Tournament set to begin Saturday, here’s a look back on the top five individual game performances from the men’s basketball team.

1. Keith Benson, Dec. 14, 2010 at No. 7 Tennessee — Benson was dominant in the first half to keep his team within striking distance for a second half comeback. The Grizzlies’ senior center finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds and a pair of blocks to help Oakland capture its first win, 89-82, over a top ten opponent in program history.

2. Reggie Hamilton, February 12, 2011 vs. IPFW — Hamilton dropped 30 points on the Mastodons for the second time this season in an 86-78 home win, but it was a critical defensive play in the closing seconds that ultimately sealed the victory. The junior guard blocked and stripped the ball from IPFW’s Ben Botts on a would-be game-winning 3-pointer and nailed a pair of subsequent free throws to end it.

3. Travis Bader, February 19, 2011 vs. SDSU — Bader turned in a career-best six 3-pointers and 22 points to help Oakland win a high-scoring, 105-96, game against the Jackrabbits at the O’rena. The performance came on the heels of his season-worst 0-for-8 game against NDSU.

4. Larry Wright, January 22, 2011 at NDSU — Returning from an ankle injury, Wright came off the bench and contributed a team-high 20 points. A perfect 4-for-4 shooting performance from behind the 3-point arc included a pair of crucial shots late in the second half to seal an 83-76 Oakland win.

5. Will Hudson, December 30, 2010 at Oral Roberts — The ever-steady Hudson turned in a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and finished the game 9-of-11 from the floor. The 85-77 win was Oakland’s first big road test of the conference season.
