Oakland Golden Grizzlies men’s basketball release 2011-12 schedule
The Oakland University men’s basketball schedule for the 2011-12 season was released this week with the type of non-conference match-ups that are typical of Coach Greg Kampe.
Spring Arbor will play the Golden Grizzlies on Nov. 3 in an exhibition game, but the regular season will kick off a southern series against Alabama on Nov. 14, Arkansas on Nov. 16, Grambling State on Nov. 19 and Houston on Nov. 22.
The Golden Grizzlies will host Tennessee at the O’Rena on Nov. 28 on television as ESPN makes their first appearance on the campus of OU again and when they face The University of Michigan at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Dec. 10.
In between the games against Tennessee and Michigan, Ohio University will face the Golden Grizzlies at home on Dec. 7.
Rochester College will also be headed to the O’Rena to play the men’s team on Dec. 13.
Following the games against Michigan and Tennessee, the Golden Grizzlies non-conference schedule includes at Valparaiso on Dec. 17 and at Arizona on Dec. 20.
Western Michigan Broncos will play the Golden Grizzlies on Dec. 23 at home.
The men will also participate in an ESPN Bracket Buster Game on Feb. 18.
After the non-conference schedule, the Summit League conference games that will take place at OU will include South Dakota on Dec. 1; UMKC on Dec. 3; Oral Roberts on Jan. 3; Western Illinois on Jan 5; IUPUI on Jan. 7; South Dakota State on Jan. 26; North Dakota State on Jan. 28; IPFW on Feb. 11; and Southern Utah on Feb. 15.
