FSN Detroit premiering series on Oakland athletics
The Oakland University Athletic Department announced that Fox Sports Detroit will air three episodes of “Oakland Basketball All-Access” beginning this Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
The show will be an inside look, not only at Grizzly basketball, but all of Oakland Athletics.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for the state of Michigan to witness what Oakland fans have come to know over the last decade or so since we have been competing in The Summit League,” Tracy Huth, OU Athletic director, said in press release. “We have special student-athletes that are driven to be successful on and off the floor.”
The first episode will feature senior point guard Reggie Hamilton and profiles on both basketball coaches Greg Kampe and Beckie Francis.
According to the Oakland Athletic Department, the episode will detail previous trips to Fargo, N.D and Brookings, S.D when the men took on North Dakota State and South Dakota State respectively.
Kampe believes the series will not only help fans get an different perspective of the program but possible recruits.
“It gives fans, recruits, high school coaches, anybody that is part of the Oakland nation an inside look at how the program is run and what our kids stand for,” Kampe said. “It’s a unique opportunity for those people to have an in-depth view of life at Oakland. Hopefully that will continue to help us recruit nationally, along with regionally as we continue the tradition of this program.”
The second episode of the series will air in February and the third and final show will take place sometime in March.
