Oakland men’s basketball to take on Michigan State tonight
Oakland University men’s basketball continues their road trip tonight, when they travel to East Lansing to face in-state foe Michigan State Spartans (3-1).
The game is scheduled for tipoff at 8:15 p.m. at the Breslin Center.
Coming off a 71-69 victory over Texas Southern, the Golden Grizzlies look to improve their record to 3-3 on the season.
Guard Travis Bader lifted Oakland over Texas Southern after scoring 23 points on the night, including a go-ahead three-pointer in the final minute of the game. Bader is averaging 19 points per game this season.
Another storyline to follow is when senior forward Drew Valentine meets his younger brother, Spartans freshman Denzel Valentine, for the first, and possibly last, game between the two in NCAA hoops action. The younger Valentine opted for Michigan State over Oakland and the chance to play with his older brother.
The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network along with WXOU’s coverage on 88.3 FM and through live updates on The Oakland Post’s Twitter.
