Auburn Hills hosting its first SeptemBEERfest event
For the first time in its history, the City of Auburn Hills will be hosting “SeptemBEERfest” on Friday, Sept. 13, providing residents in and outside of Auburn Hills the opportunity to celebrate with craft beer, live music and food.
Torri Mathes is the media communication specialist who is in charge of community outreach for the city of Auburn Hills. She is also part of the team who is responsible for promoting and planning the event.
Since this is the first time for Auburn Hills to host such an event, Mathes and her group have been trying to make sure they are promoting the event to as many people as possible.
“My major role is to promote the first-ever event — SeptemBEERfest — here in Auburn Hills, especially because we’ve never hosted this event in the community,” Mathes said. “They can find more information on our website. The tickets are $35 per person, which includes entrance to the festivities, 5 pours, foods and entertainment.”
This event not only provides people the opportunity to enjoy the night with beer, food and activities, but it also goes to a good cause. Sponsored by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the City of Auburn Hills, Downtown Development Authority, 2 Stones Events and Little Caesars, the event is giving back to the community by donating all proceeds to the Auburn Hills Community Foundation.
“One of our major sponsors is Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. They wanted to give back to the community that their headquarters are in,” Mathes said.
The money raised through this event will, as usual, go directly to the Auburn Hills Community Foundation where they give out grants and scholarships to other organizations that directly impact the Auburn Hills area.
“The event was created as a fun and unique way to give back to the community,” Mathes said.
With a rapidly increasing population, the City of Auburn Hills is trying to host many different types of events and programs to further enhance the community.
“Definitely go to our Facebook page — City of Auburn Hills. We always have events going on like pop-up movie night next month,” Mathes said.
