DIY: Easter grass cupcakes
If you’re looking to dress up the dessert table on Easter, or just indulge in some festive treats yourself, these Easter grass cupcakes are ideal when it comes to a delicious and quick recipe for everyone.
What you will need:
1. Chocolate cake mix, and all the ingredients it calls for
2. Coconut shavings
3. Cupcake wrappers and cupcake tins
4. Chocolate frosting
5. Green food coloring
6. Candy eggs
7. Baking sheet
8. Wax paper
What to do:
First, start by mixing your cake batter and preheating the oven to whatever the directions on the box say. Then, scoop the mix into the cupcake wrappers. Make sure you will them pretty good so they rise and look good for the decorations. Then, put them in the oven until baked thoroughly. In the mean time, mix water and the green food coloring into a bowl. Make sure not to add too much of this because a lot goes a long way. Add about 2-3 drops of the food coloring so that it comes out a lighter shade of green for the grass and not too dark. Then, mix the coconut shavings in until the color of it changes. Lay the green shavings onto a baking sheet covered in wax paper to dry. When the cupcakes are ready to come out of the over set them on the stovetop to cool. When they have cooled, frost them lightly and sprinkle the green coconut shavings on top. Lastly, add 2-3 candy eggs on the top for the final look. I used M&M eggs, but you can use any kind of candy egg you prefer. Enjoy!
