Dave Coulier of “Full House” fame is coming to OU
Tickets available on Friday, Oct. 20.
The Student Life and Lecture Board is bringing Dave Coulier from “Full House” and “Fuller House” to campus on Monday, Nov. 6.
Best known for his role as Uncle Joey on “Full House,” Coulier has also appeared on shows like “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “How I Met Your Mother” as well as movies like Lifetime’s “The Family Holiday” and Disney’s “The 13th Year.”
Because Coulier is a Michigan native from St. Clair Shores and an avid supporter of Detroit sports — especially The Detroit Red Wings — he will bring a unique perspective to campus. Hannah Clark, the student co-chair of the SLLB, says that she thinks Coulier will really resonate with students.
“Especially because all of the sports are back in Detroit, I think he’ll be able to relate to the audience because this is where he is from,” she said.
Clark said that when she and her team were choosing the next high-profile lecturer to come to campus, Coulier was the obvious choice.
“We have a committee that votes on the speakers,” she said. “Across the board, everyone wanted him. A few of the people on our committee have heard him speak before and they really liked his message and how he presented it through humor. Because of that and his hometown connection, it was pretty easy to vote yes on him.”
Students can get up to four free tickets for the show starting at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20 at the Center for Student Activities’ service window, which is located in the basement of the Oakland Center near The Bear Cave. Tickets will get students a seat at Coulier’s comedy show and lecture as well as a chance to meet him after the show.
