Oakland defeats Green Bay in fast-paced offensive battle
Oakland men’s basketball (18-9, 10-4) lived up to its high-scoring reputation in a 111-93 home win over the Green Bay Phoenix (15-11, 7-6) on Saturday afternoon.
Six Golden Grizzlies scored in double digits.
Kay Felder led the charge with 28 points, seven assists, and four rebounds. He shot 10-for-18 from the field.
Nick Daniels shot 11 in the first eight minutes of the game, helping along the 15-0 run with which Oakland blasted open the game. He’d go on to total 17 points, six assists and three boards.
Percy Gibson, Martez Walker and Jalen Hayes each shot 12. Gibson picked up six rebounds.
Sherron Dorsey-Walker managed ten points. He led the team in rebounds with eight.
Green Bay pushed right back after the rapid and early Oakland run and made it 28-26 with eight minutes left in the first half. They’d never lead again.
Tevin Findlay, normally a 5.5 points-per-game shooter, scored 18.
Charles Cooper also shot for 18. He fouled out.
Carrington Love got 12 points and managed four rebounds and four assists.
