8:40 p.m. – With 2:34 remaining, OU leads 60-47.

8:22 p.m. – 45-43 Oakland with 10:45 remaining.

8:16 p.m. – IPFW with five fouls in the early second half.  Cushingberry field goal makes it 45-41 with 13:30 remaining.

8:12 p.m. – Benson is drawing a constant double-team and sometimes a triple-team.

8:08 p.m. – Larry Wright nearly went over the scorers table. 39-38 IPFW on a Yearby dunk.

8:04 p.m. – Benson is the first to double figures with an opening possession field goal. 34-33 Oakland.

7:59 p.m. – First half shooting percentages: Oakland 37 percent and IPFW 38.2 percent. Neither team has missed a free throw.

7:54 p.m. – Oakland has trailed at the half in three conference games this season and has a record of 2-1 in those games. IPFW is shooting 50 percent (6 of 12) from 3-point range. Keith Benson has 9 points and 8 rebounds along with 3 blocks.

7:49 p.m. – Haltime score: IPFW 33, Oakland 32. Zack Plackemeier hit two 3-pointers in the last minute of the half, including one at the buzzer to give the Mastodons the lead.

7:40 p.m. – Hudson lost a contact and had to leave the game momentarily. Oakland leads 32-27 late stages 1st half.

7:35 p.m. – This is easily the most animated Kampe has been in the last dozen games or so.

7:32 p.m. – Ben Botts briefly tied the game at 25 before Larry Wright countered with a 3-pointer of his own.  28-25 Oakland.

7:29 p.m. – 24-18 with 7:40 remaining. Benson has 8 points and Jones has 7.

7:23 p.m. – IUPUI coach Ron Hunter is sitting two chairs down on press row scouting the competition should his Jaguars team win later tonight.

7:20 p.m. – IPFW calls a timeout following a Johnathon Jones layup. 20-11 with 11:26 left in the first.

7:15 p.m. – 11-3 Oakland after a Cushingberry 3-pointer.

7:10 p.m. – OU leads 6-3 after four minutes of play. Benson has three early rebounds and a block.

7:05 p.m. – Keith Benson with a baseline jumped to make it 2-0 Grizzlies.

7:03 p.m. – Blake Cushingberry will start his second game in a row in place of Maynard.

7:02 p.m. – Game is about to start. There are scouts from the Cleveland Cavaliers in the arena apparently to have a long look at Keith Benson.

6:58 p.m. – With South Dakota State and North Dakota State eliminated from the men’s bracket, Sioux Falls Arena is the emptiest it’s been all week. I’m guessing 1500 fans are here right now. Oakland’s cheering section will dwarf that of IPFW it seems.

6:40 p.m. – Drew Maynard is in uniform taking warm-up shots right now. Tip off is in about 20 minutes. It remains uncertain whether Kampe intends to use Maynard in the game (and for how long), but he did not dress at all for the last game Saturday night after he suffered an ankle injury in practice Wednesday. I still maintain that he would only enter the game as a last resort. Kampe was pretty adament during the post-game press conference Saturday that Maynard would not play tonight.
