University sets parking regulations for fall 2012 commencement ceremonies

For the fall 2012 commencement ceremonies on Dec. 15, Oakland University will have several parking regulations in place throughout the day.

Students and visitors of the School of Education and Human Services, School of Health Sciences, School of Nursing and School of Business Administration commencements at 9 a.m. should enter through Pioneer or University Drive, according to the OU website. Those visitors should also park in P24, P26, P29 or P36, with senior shuttles available in P29 and shuttles from the other lots.

During this time, Pioneer Drive will be left turn only toward I-75 or M-59. All cars will exit southbound on Squirrel Road.

For the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering and Computer Science, and Bachelor of Integrative Studies ceremonies at 5 p.m., the university asks that all vehicles follow the same guidelines as the 1 p.m. graduate ceremony.

For the master and doctoral graduates at 1 p.m., the website states that all should enter from University Drive, Squirrel Road or Walton Boulevard. Parking will be available in P1 and bus transportation to the O’rena will be provided.

Parking lots P16 and P17 will be for handicapped parking only. P11 will be reserved for staff and faculty parking only.
