The OU Student Program Board hosts an array of campus events throughout the school year. Events such as GrizzlyPalooza, which on Sept. 9 will feature rapper Big Sean, are organized for student entertainment. These events are often at low cost for student admission, but they come at a big price for the university.

With a 16 percent increase over last year's record on-campus housing demands, 30 rooms at Homestead Studio Suites have been reserved for OU students displaced
because of overcrowded residence halls. In addition, the showrooms in Hamlin, Nicholson and Vandenburg Residence Halls have been converted for general student
use.

The Gender and Sexuality Center’s President Alexa Van Vilet stood before the Oakland University board of trustees at their meeting today in Elliot hall to petition for a fully-staffed center. The board also discussed renovations to O'Dowd hall and appointed a Dean of Kresge Library.
