Kwame Kilpatrick, former mayor of Detroit, was found guilty on 24 of 30 counts this morning, after a decade-long trial. Kilpatrick and friend and contractor Bobby Ferguson were convicted of racketeering and distortion, the Detroit Free Press said.

For the second year, Meadow Brook Hall has received a Program for Operational and Project Support grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. The Hall, which was named a National Historic Landmark last summer, received $18,000 to be used toward operating support and curatorial needs, according to Kim Zelinski, director of museum operations and advancement.
