Several years ago, Design Plus, a western Michigan-based design firm, drafted a Master Plan for a complete revamping of Oakland University Housing. Four years of deliberation later, plans to renovate existing facilities and to construct new ones are making progress and will be discussed at this fall’s Board of Trustees meetings.

In October 2010, the OU baseball team was asked if they would consider adopting a child from the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, an organization that pairs children suffering from pediatric brain tumors with athletic teams around the country. After thinking it over and discussing the implications of the program, they decided to ask Ryan Kennedy, a now 10-year-old boy with brain cancer, to join their team.
