Summit League officials are visiting the University of North Dakota campus Nov. 1-2 to discuss the potential addition of the Fighting Sioux. The Summit League has already improved the addition of University of South Dakota, which will start competing in all sports in the fall of 2011.

Oakland University hosted the third running of the Brooksie Way Half Marathon and 5K Sunday, with the race starting off Walton Boulevard near Adams Road and finishing in front of Meadow Brook Hall. The race was started in 2008 by Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, in memory of his late son Brooks Stuart Patterson, or “Brooksie” as he was often called, who died in an accident in 2007. Oakland has hosted the race in all three years of its existence and saw the largest crowd in race history — nearly 5,000 people — pour onto campus for the event last weekend.

Oakland hosted the No. 1 ranked team in the country Wednesday at Pontiac Ultimate Soccer Arenas, but struggled to find any offense and ended up on the wrong side of a 5-0 outcome.
