Student Organic Farmers, a student organization that supports organic food production in the community, is hosting an interactive organic farming experience in the Oakland Center to show students how to transplant seedlings. These seeds will then be grown and harvested by SOF during the upcoming growing season.

The Oakland Center was dark, empty and locked, and although the lights were on, Kresge Library was closed. The university operator wasn’t even there to say, “Oakland University, how may I help you?” In fact, the entire campus was shut down by Dec. 23.

Traffic accidents on campus decrease, become more serious

“Last year from Sept. 1, 2010 to Nov. 19, 2010 we took 83 accident reports including parking lot accidents and this year from Sept. 1, 2011 to Nov. 19, 2011 we took 68 accident reports, including parking lot accidents,” Thompson said.
