Predicted inclement weather postpones some Welcome Week events

Due to a prediction of thunderstorms for tomorrow night, all outdoor Welcome Week events for Friday evening have been postponed.

According to Jean Ann Miller, director of the Center for Student Activities, the Student Program Board carnival, Sigma Pi fraternity 18th Annual Pig Roast, Student Affairs and Center for Student Activities grand opening of the bonfire pit and the Student Video Program showing of “The Hunger Games” have been postponed until Monday, Sept. 10 from 6-11 p.m. in the upper fields.

There is a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms for tomorrow, according to weather reports.

The Meadow Brook Hall walk has also been postponed until Tuesday, Sept. 11. The walk times are 8, 8:30 and 9 p.m. The walk starts at Hamlin Circle and leads through the woods to Meadow Brook Hall. The event is free and open to all.
