The American Association of University Professors and Oakland University reached a tentative agreement on faculty contracts at 3:30 a.m. Friday.

According to the OU bargaining diaries, the agreement will provide across-the-board pay increases, merit pay adjustments and benefit restructuring. It will extend for the next three years.

“We congratulate both of the bargaining teams for their hard work and diligence in making this possible in a professional and amicable manner,” OU’s bargaining diaries said. “We look forward to our continuing to work together in the future.”

The next step is to approve the proposed tentative agreement by both the AAUP executive committee and OU, a process that could take weeks.

Neither the AAUP or OU could be reached for comment.

The Oakland Post will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
