My Fox Detroit is reporting that Jeffery Zaslow, a repoter at the Wall Street Journal, was killed in a car accident this morning at around 9 a.m. on M-32. He was 53.

Zaslow came to Oakland University last year to talk about “The Last Lecture,” a book he wrote. Instead of charging his speaker fee, Zaslow asked to raise money for pancreatic cancer research instead, in memory of his friend Randy Pausch.

Although a columnist, he also wrote for the New York Times.

His book, ‘The Last Lecture,” was one of several New York Times bestsellers, which was translated into 48 languages. It sold five million English copies.

Zaslow leaves behind his wife and three daughters.
